Using a baguette allows you to get a crunchy crust while maintaining a soft inner filling. The perfect side dish to many meals.
1 | french baguette |
175g | butter, softened |
2 tbsps | parsley, finely chopped |
3 | garlic cloves, minced |
salt and pepper, to taste |
1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/ gas mark 4.
2. 2. Slice the baguette diagonally with about 2cm gap between each slice, and leave a 1 cm gap from the bottom as to not cut all the way through.
3. 3. Combine the butter, garlic, parsley and seasoning into a paste.
4. 4. Divide the butter mixture evenly within the bread slices, leaving some to spread on top for a golden finish.
5. 5. Wrap the bread in foil, transfer to a baking tray. Bake for 12 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 3 minutes or until your preferred crispness.
Top with cheese for an upgraded experience!
