We're fighting food poverty on multiple fronts

Provide

Our Community Meal Drives provide hot nutritious meals for vulnerable people who struggle to access food. We also operate ‘buy one, give one’ foodbank drives at markets and events, that generate donations of pasta, rice, tinned food, soup and cereal to our local foodbank partners. So far, we’ve secured over 10,000 donations!

Cater

Our delivery teams also prep, batch cook and distribute hot nutritious meals, often as part of holiday hunger initiatives, for young people living in food poverty. We’ve generated 75,000+ meals since 2014!

Educate

Since 2014, we’ve taught more than 2,500 people how to cook including stroke survivors, young carers, foodbank beneficiaries and elderly people living in sheltered accommodation. We’ve also pioneered the development of ‘buy one, give one’ public cookery courses and online cookalongs. Every ticket sold generates a free place for someone referred to us from one of our Partner Charities. This way, everyone in the community can cook together! If you’re interested in our Secret Dishes From Around the World cookery courses, you can book here. Can’t make the course? Funding a free place is a great way to make a difference.

Sustain

We take a sustainable approach to tackling food poverty by providing all of our Partner Charities and their beneficiaries with free access to our Cooking & Nutrition Portal. The Portal has hundreds of exciting recipes, cooking tips, budgeting advice, an interactive meal planner and a section dedicated to growing your own fruit, vegetables and herbs. You can support our mission and get access to our Cooking & Nutrition Portal by becoming a member of our community cookery school.

Employ

We run a variety of cooking and employment support programmes that help people achieve the accredited skills needed to gain employment in the food sector and/or set up their own food business! We also run an annual Social Enterprise Internship programme, that supports young people across the country who are interested in a career in the VCSE sector.

Inspire

Since the pandemic hit, we have been busy mobilising delivery teams in the UK’s largest 20 towns and cities in order to teach people how to cook, donate food to foodbanks and provide catering services in disadvantaged communities nationwide. We’ll be announcing new locations in future too, keep an eye on our latest news for updates.

If you’re interested in supporting our mission, check out our volunteering opportunities.
