Cucumber Raita

Refreshing and cooling, raita is an ideal curry accompaniment

This delicious side goes perfectly with any curry! It’s also another healthy recipe that you can make from scratch in no time at all. 


1/2 cucumber
150g natural yoghurt
1 tbsp mint leaves, finely chopped 
salt, to taste


  1. Peel the cucumber then coarsely grate onto a chopping board. Remove excess juice before transferring to a bowl.
  2. Season the cucumber with salt, then stir in the yoghurt, cumin seeds and chopped mint. Mix well, then keep in the fridge until ready to serve.
  3. Serve and enjoy with almost any Indian dish! 

Chef’s tips

Add cumin seeds for an extra authentic kick. The mint can be replaced/enhanced with coriander leaves.
