Pico de Gallo (Salsa)

A dip sensation, perfect with tortilla chips

This fresh, healthy classic helps you hit your 5 a day and is the perfect side for a number of dishes! Plus there’s no added sugar like in the supermarket version. 


350g fresh tomatoes, finely chopped 
1/2 red onion, very finely chopped 
20g fresh coriander, finely chopped 
1/2 lime, juice
1 chilli, finely chopped
salt, to taste


  1. Prepare all ingredients on a chopping board – be sure to use gloves when handling the chilli.
  2. Place all ingredients in a large bowl then mix together with a large pinch of salt.
  3. Serve either as a side, or eat fresh with tortilla chips 

Chef’s tips

Add 1 crushed garlic clove if you want extra flavour.
Add extra chillies for extra heat!
