Gambas Al Ajillo

This is a real tapas classic that’s guaranteed to please!


10-12 prawns, vein removed 
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 chilli, finely chopped 
20g  parsley, finely chopped 
50g  butter 
1.5 tsps smoked paprika
1 lemon, cut into segments
50ml  olive oil 


  1. Melt the oil and butter together in a pan over a medium heat.
  2. Next, add the garlic, chilli and paprika with a touch of salt and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the prawns and cook for 3 minutes or until fully cooked.
  4. Add parsley and mix.
  5. Cover in fresh lemon juice and serve.

Chef’s tips

If you want a hotter kick, experiment with the type of chilli you use.
