We are excited to announce that we are now welcoming applications for our Social Enterprise Internship Programme!

The Programme

The Social Enterprise Internship Programme will run from July 3rd-14th 2023 and is available to anyone over the age of 18 who has an interest in working for or setting up a social enterprise or charity. The internship programme offers valuable insights into the rewarding VCSE sector. Successful applicants will get to work on projects alongside the central Bounceback Food team and will gain experience of working in an expanding social enterprise that is developing teams across the UK to tackle food poverty.

Details

Our annual social enterprise programme has run since 2018 and provided vital experience for young people looking to develop a career in the sector. We welcome applicants from around the world as the entire programme is delivered remotely. Successful applicants from the UK may have the opportunity to support projects being delivered by Bounceback Food teams in person. Our central team works from co-working offices in Manchester and London.

The 2023 programme will pay a UK living wage to successful applicants for the duration of the internship (up to a maximum of 25 hours per successful applicant).

We are recruiting for the following 6 roles in the 2023 programme:

  • Marketing

  • Graphic Design

Interns will work on projects linked to their chosen role and a range of wider organisation campaigns. Successful candidates will have the following skills and personal attributes:

  • Experience with social media platforms (especially Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube).
  • Strong interest in developing a career in the VCSE sector.
  • Relevant volunteering experiences.
  • Demonstrable writing skills.
  • Willingness to apply our core values: respect, enterprise and teamwork.
  • Examples of creativity, intuition and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Application Process

Last year we received hundreds of applications and were only able to make a handful of offers. So, before putting together your application, it’s vitally important to take time researching our organisation via our website and social media channels (including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Podcast) so that you understand the work of our Community Cookery School teams, campaigns and fundraising projects. Your covering letter provides an opportunity to demonstrate this research and articulate what you would bring to our team! If you are shortlisted you will be invited to a Zoom interview w/c 24th April 2023.

We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented in the social enterprise sector. We also welcome applications from LGB, Trans and non-binary candidates.

To apply, please complete both of the following tasks:

1. Submit answers to all of the questions listed on this form.

2. Send your CV and a covering letter via email to [email protected], using the subject line ‘Social Enterprise Internship Application 2023’.

Applications close on the 31st March 2023 at 5pm. We will only consider applications from people who complete all of the application tasks (make sure you answer the questions on the form, send us your CV and covering letter with the correct subject line). We look forward to hearing from you!
