This side dish is the perfect accompaniment to koshari plus it’s quick and easy to prepare… 

Ingredients

1

medium brown onion, sliced

3 tbsps 

olive oil

40g 

plain flour, sieved

1tsp

salt

Method

  1. Add your flour and salt to a mixing bowl and mix together
  2.  Toss the onion in the flour to coat, then shake off any excess flour and transfer to a plate
  3. Add the olive oil to a large frying pan on a medium heat, once hot add the onions stirring often until they are nice and crispy
  4. Serve over a delicious serving of Koshari!

 

Chef’s tips

Add butter or balsamic vinegar for an extra kick of flavour!
