Secret Dishes From Around the World 2 (2020) contains recipes from 20 countries, attractive food photography and original designs by 20 artists based in Greater Manchester, Cheshire & North Wales. There’s advice from our head chef in the ‘Chef’s Tips’ section including vegan switches where possible, a guide to kitchen utensils and a timeline of how our Community Cookery School navigated the first and second lockdowns in 2020.

The artists who contributed to this cookbook were Jack Whitelegg, Natalija Stolarova, Bernice Tackley, Sam Tomson, Michael Wylie, Tommy Bradley, Lydia Fernandez-Arias, Victoria Rebekah, Emma Reynolds, James Blinkhorn, Alexandra Boocock, Peter Lang, Jessica Owen, Rory Spencer, Jamie Griffiths, Christian Turner, Holly Gorne, Emily Gibbs, Amberley Garland and Ollie Hirst.

In our second cookbook you’ll discover a selection of our favourite recipes from Lebanon, Tunisia, Italy, Peru, Mexico, Thailand, Eritrea, Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, Mali, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Japan, Philippines, Turkey, Poland, Pakistan, New Zealand, Jamaica and Cuba.

The artists who contributed to this book are all based in Greater Manchester, Cheshire & North Wales – the three areas where we delivered outreach work prior to COVID-19.

After we secured the funds required to produce the sequel with our ‘Back the Book’ crowdfunding campaign, the artists were commissioned to create a unique piece of art for each country featured. Their work features at the start of each country section. Each artist interpreted the brief differently; some studied the traditional art of the culture that they were representing and others chose to focus on their personal links with the culture.

The colourful, unique artwork perfectly complements the diverse range of dishes!

Celebrate the diversity of food, art and community with this fundraising recipe book!
